EA’s £180m JV Triple
Hunters Joint Venture work continues to go from strength to strength with our EA team currently advising on multiple phases of Gallions Quarter, part of the redevelopment of Royal Albert Wharf in East London.
As Joint Venture Advisors, our EA team are overseeing all three phases of Gallions Quarter in addition to providing Employer's Agent and Cost Consultant services. The Gallions Quarter projects will see the construction of around 800 high-quality homes and over 2,600 sqm of commercial units at a projected cost of around £180 million.
Our clients successfully secured the scheme as part of a London Development Agency competition, where they were identified as preferred bidders. Working closely alongside Notting Hill Housing and the GLA the three sites are being developed by Telford Homes (Phases 1 & 3) and Galliford Try (Phase 2) as part of Joint Venture companies.
Hunters have provided bespoke procurement advice and delivery to meet the requirements of the joint venture company enabling the site works to be accelerated ahead of programme. Remediation work is complete and piling has just started on-site. The first of the new homes is expected to complete by December 2019.
The Reserved Matters planning application is being prepared with careful consideration given to the proximity to London City Airport and Docklands Light Railway. Hunters are providing procurement expertise to enable the project to move forward, as well as managing the planning and design process and controlling the risk management process.
Detailed design is due to commence late summer, ahead of programme, with site surveys currently underway.
Royal Albert Wharf is a major residential mixed tenure development in an emerging East London location. The overall masterplan will create a mixed tenure and mixed-use community of over 1,500 homes and 7,800 sqm of non-residential use.
The final phase will complete in 2024.
