A groundbreaking youth centre in Lewisham that Hunters provided EA services for has been shortlisted for the prestigious New London Architecture Awards 2013.

TNG Youth & Community Centre has been nominated in the Best Public Building category and faces competition from the likes of the Victoria and Albert Museum's renovated Fashion Gallery, and the London 2012 Handball Arena, designed by Make Architects.

RCKa, who designed the centre, said on their blog that they were "delighted" to be shortlisted, while Hunters' lead employer's agent Nana Takyi said she was "proud to have worked on such an inspiring project".

The £3.5m youth centre was completed in spring this year and features a climbing wall, performance spaces, and a striking timber frame clad with translucent polycarbonate.

The building has also been accepted for Open House 2013, meaning it will be open to public viewing in September.

The NLA Awards take place on Thursday, 11 July at the Guildhall, while TNG Youth Centre will be officially opened on Monday, 10 June.
