Macaulay Walk in Clapham has won a remarkable four awards at the What House? Awards 2014.
The mixed scheme of offices and 65 private and 32 affordable homes took Gold for Best Apartment Scheme and Best Brownfield Development, Silver for Best Mixed-Use Development, and Bronze for Best Development.
Hunters’ EA team worked on the affordable section of the development for our client Network Housing.
Judges praised the specification and quality of materials used at the scheme, which includes “heavy, tall oak doors, bespoke bronze door furniture and marble surfaces.”
They also said Macaulay Walk is “a highly crafted development very deserved of an award”, and that it “oozes class”.
In their report they stated: “The team responsible for this excellent development have really done a difficult site justice, both in the way they have acknowledged the scheme’s history and in the highly desirable homes they have created.”
They urged potential buyers to “run, don’t walk, to see what all the fuss is about”.
Hunters’ Employer’s Agent team was headed up by Director Toby Jay, who said he was proud that the scheme had won so many awards.
“The wins very much demonstrate the hard work that has gone in to Macaulay Walk. It’s an excellent project that sensitively transformed a former industrial site into a new neighbourhood in Clapham. I’m very happy that it has been so highly recognised by the What House? judges.”
The 33rd What House? Awards were held at London's Grosvenor House Hotel on November 21st 2014, recognising the best new homes and housebuilders in Britain.
