Affordable homes in the heart of Kensington

Rarely affordable housing is created in such a prestigious location, but Kensington and Chelsea has worked with Peabody to create new affordable housing at the back of Kensington Church Street. As part of the wider team, Hunters, acting as EA’s, have delivered fourteen new affordable homes with private terraces and / or balconies, the residents will have a new public garden on their doorstep as part of the wider development. The tenants housed are from the councils housing waiting list.

The use of superior materials in keeping with the local area has created a high-quality, low-rise development reflective of the stone used on many flagship buildings on Kensington High Street. PVs have been included and there is very easy access to all local facilities and the tube station. The surrounding existing buildings and businesses remained operational during construction and due to its vicinity of embassies and Kensington Palace security was important.
