Brunel is Flying High

Brunel Street Works is a highly complex site next to Canning Town Station in the London Borough if Newham and is part of the much larger regeneration programme being delivered in the Royal Docks. The revitalising of a disused GLA site into a new neighbourhood creates new homes, spaces, businesses and places. As London intensifies, designing around transport and infrastructure are ever more acute and Brunel Street Works has been a good example of how teams working together which can achieve a lot as they overcame the challenges of building directly next to London City Airport, London Underground, DLR and a busy road network.

The  £150m development is being delivered as a joint venture between Vistry Partnership / Galliford Try / Metropolitan Thames Valley Housing and includes London & Quadrant, Fizzy Living and Linden Homes as partners.

The buildings include 975 mixed tenure homes of which 30% are family homes and over 8000m2 of commercial space including a 152 bed hotel, foodstore and retail / business units. New public spaces connect the buildings and people in the area.  Hunters provided executive architect services and are lead consultants for the whole development.
