Celebrating 70 Years — Through the Eyes of Our People
As we mark our 70th anniversary, we want to celebrate the heart and soul of our firm- the people who bring it to life every day.
Recently, a few team members shared their sketchbooks with us – a glimpse into how they see the world. Those sketches reminded Hunters how much talent and passion thrive here, beyond the projects and deadlines.
It got us thinking, wouldn’t it be wonderful to share these with everyone? So here’s a taste of the artwork.
“These doodles from my sketchbook are a mixture of moments from travel and day-to-day observations. Some focus on architecture, others on street life or scenery. They’re informal, done on the go, and provide a nice memory of the places and things I’ve seen.”
“I previously worked on The Woodman Pub in Wimbledon Park (left). I produced this sketch to help visualise the proposal to revitalise this much-loved local landmark, which was presented during a public engagement event. Sketching is part of my every day.”
“I typically like to spend around one hour to make a quick sketch whenever I visit another city as a form of souvenir. Sometimes these sketches are of famous landmarks, other times they may just be an interesting place I come across. This was drawn from my hotel room in Budapest, Hungary.”
“I was given a brief to create a family home, and I was heavily inspired by different cultural and historical features of architecture. I was inspired by Michiya (urban) Japanese housing, and their use of shape and form.”
“Quick, sketchy lines on a graphic tablet capture a fleeting moment in motion. With soft tones and restrained colour, a dancer emerges mid-flight — ribbons hint at form while leaving space for movement to breathe.
Drawn in Barcelona, during a time when sketching was simply a pastime.”
