Hounslow Garage Infill Completion

Two of four infill sites in West London, for which Hunters are providing Executive Architecture services, have recently completed. Orchard Road and Everglades were challenging sites with two very different outcomes. Both projects provide much needed homes in London on what were previously run down car park and garage sites.

Orchard Road

A corner site with a variation of adjacent homes including Victorian, we have detailed five new family houses, all affordable to rent and all to LETI (Low Energy Transformation Initiative) standards. The homes have solar panels and heat pumps as well as large sun terraces and grassy gardens. The contemporary design twist on a traditional London house uses inviting buff-coloured bricks with bronze effect windows creating an attractive terrace of homes.

Everglades

The new contemporary infills sit between, and at each end of, the original 1960’s council flats. Buff colour bricks reflecting local housing stock were used, complemented with golden balcony rails and windows. Three blocks in all have been created, establishing thirty-three new homes, 94% affordable and 6% shared ownership. New soft landscaping including newly planted trees. The four floors of each block include a penthouse with a large external terrace.

The other Hounslow garage sites which Hunters are working on are expected to complete at the end of the year.
