Hunters’ Team Volunteer at AgeUK Valentines Ball
Siobhan Walsh, Claire Pond and Liam Gulliford volunteered at this years AgeUK Valentines ball in Kensington and Chelsea. They helped transform the hall by helping to dress 45 tables for guests to turn it into a stunning Valentine’s-themed space. Once the dressing had completed, they hosted tables throughout the afternoon, serving tea, coffee and cakes and encouraged the guests to engage with the music, singing and dancing and photobooth.
Hunters selected Age UK Kensington & Chelsea as one of the recipient charities of our “Considerate Santa” initiative,” providing a donation to support their work with older residents in the borough. The charity expressed appreciation that the donation was staff-selected, which made the contribution especially meaningful. The day is one of the range of CSR activities Hunters invests in for the team.

Siobhan Walsh from Hunters commented ‘One of the most memorable moments was actually the bus ride home. Quite a few of the guests were on the same bus, chatting excitedly about the afternoon, sharing positive feedback, thanking us personally and continuing the conversations from the event. Hearing first-hand how much the day meant to them, completely unprompted, was just fabulous and really brought home the impact of the event.’
Claire Pond added ‘It was really rewarding to be part of this amazing event on behalf of Hunters and what this meant to the guests. The guests really enjoyed themselves – it put a smile on their faces.’
Ximena Chiesa from AgeUK added ‘Having Hunters join us both as a funder and as part of our volunteer team was a huge help. Your hands-on support ensured that over 460 local residents and community partners felt welcomed and celebrated. This was our biggest and most successful event to date, and the feedback from the community has been wonderful.’
Next years Valentine’s Ball is already in the calendar…
