Planning Approval Secured for Haydon Drive Homes

Hunters has secured planning permission for the development of 21 new, 100% affordable, family homes in Pinner, on behalf of the London Borough of Hillingdon.

The 0.58 hectare site is in a suburban area characterised by 1930s semi-detached housing. The design of the new homes responds sensitively to this context, incorporating gable roofs that complement the surrounding architecture. The combination of brick and clay tile creates a design that is both contemporary and contextual, grounding the building in its setting while enhancing the cohesion of the streetscape.

At the heart of the scheme, a new shared green space and children’s playground. A restructured street layout improves site connectivity and activates the frontage, reconnecting the development with the surrounding neighbourhood. The site benefits from good access to public transport and is within 400 metres of two existing public open spaces.

The new homes will replace 16 outdated bungalows that no longer meet the needs of modern living—particularly for residents with mobility requirements—and have historically experienced extended vacancy periods between tenancies.

The proposal integrates passive solar design, green infrastructure and renewable technologies to create an energy-efficient and futureproof development.
