Reading University Undergraduate Winners

For several years we have supported University of Reading undergraduate students who are studying Building Surveying, Construction Management & Quantity Surveying.

As part of their Part II ‘Projects’ module, the students are given a brief to design and construct a sustainable extension to a campus building, with proposals being presented to the University as well as a consultant team including Hunters and Beard Construction.  The module combines technical work with presentation skills practice, teamwork, risk analysis and project skills.  This year the winning team and rising stars attended an event at Beard Construction offices.

The Hunters team included David Capel, Katie Grubb and Louie Capsalis.

Director David Capel said ‘The comprehensive and well-rounded proposals from Group 5 gave them the winning position. It’s always good to see undergraduates developing their professional skills during the project and performing to such a high-standard in a real-life pressure situation. Well done to them all.’
