Helping the NHS Stay Safe

Work has started on the refurbishment of St Georges Hospital Emergency Department to strengthen the control and prevention of infection. The transformation includes a new reception and waiting area and improvements to bays and cubicles. The department is one of the busiest in the UK and will remain open throughout the building work.  Hunters healthcare team have worked with St Georges NHS Trust for several years on strategic design plans and refurbishment delivery. This project is one of a number of national emergency refurbishments the team are delivering, including the A and E departments at Homerton and Stoke Mandeville hospitals,  in light of Covid 19.

Tim Ashton, Director commented ‘We are committed to playing our part in designing hospitals to be as safe as possible for patients and staff during this pandemic and keeping them open for all during any works. We work closely with the trust to ensure our designs are cost effective, safe and can be implemented in a 24/7 patient environment’.
