Hunters’ Multi-disciplinary Team Upgrades St Thomas’ Radiology Theatre

Key collaboration from Hunters’ Architectural, Engineering and Principal Designer Teams has resulted in an incredible new design and upgrade to St Thomas’ Interventional Radiology Theatre 15.  The project combines advanced imaging technology with the refurbishment of key supporting spaces, including the preparation room, anaesthetics room, control room and technical room. Following Gateway 2 approval, works are now set to commence on site.

NEW Video – Bringing light in, how Hunters tackled Chelsea and Westminster Hospital’s natural daylight dilemmas.

Our Healthcare team here at Hunters has recently designed and completed a major two phase refurbishment of Chelsea & Westminster Hospital. One of these phases was the comprehensive refurbishment of the hospital’s Day Surgery Unit. Included in the refurbishment, were two new state-of-the-art operating theatres, and 28 new private cabins for patients. Our Healthcare team also made sure to add some greatly needed improvements to the staff rest areas.

Reading University Undergraduate Winners

For several years we have supported University of Reading undergraduate students who are studying Building Surveying, Construction Management & Quantity Surveying.

As part of their Part II ‘Projects’ module, the students are given a brief to design and construct a sustainable extension to a campus building, with proposals being presented to the University as well as a consultant team including Hunters and Beard Construction.  The module combines technical work with presentation skills practice, teamwork, risk analysis and project skills.  This year the winning team and rising stars attended an event at Beard Construction offices.

Thanet Community Health Hub – converting a college into healthcare

Hunters’ Healthcare team has designed and completed Phase One of the new £10 million Thanet Community Health Hub — a transformational change-of-use project bringing primary care, community health services, and diagnostic provision together under one roof.

Located adjacent to a busy shopping centre in Broadstairs, the hub occupies a former Canterbury Christ Church University building, originally constructed in 2000 and vacant since 2018. Its highly accessible setting places healthcare at the centre of the community it serves.
