Ashmole Academy 6th Form
As part of the national drive to increase school places for 16 and 17-year-olds, Ashmole Academy, a specialist school for science and music in Southgate, required a new building to provide facilities to match its outstanding teaching.
Ashmole Sixth Form Academy
The purpose built block uses state-of-the-art prefabrication techniques delivering a bold and strong design.
The new sixth form centre is vibrant and tailored for 380 students, mainly studying for A-level.
The use of a modular system allowed the main construction of the building superstructure to take place over a 3-day period with the school fully operational during the whole construction phase, which was completed over a 12-week period. Structure and services were designed to be left visible on the ground floor, creating a modern industrial look that saved costs and allows easy access for future maintenance.
