Canning Town

Brunel Street Works

Acting as Lead Architects delivering a highly complicated, £250m development adjacent to Canning Town Station, Brunel Street Works provides a vibrant new urban quarter on a highly complex site.

Brunel Street Works

Brunel Street Works is part of the regeneration programme being delivered in the Royal Docks, East London. It is one of the largest regeneration sites undertaken in London, revitalising a GLA disused site into a new neighbourhood.

The development is being delivered as a joint venture between Vistry / Metropolitan Thames Valley Housing and includes London & Quadrant, Fizzy Living and Linden Homes as partners.

The overall project will deliver 975 mixed tenure homes, 30% of which are family homes and a block of private rent, over 8,000m2 of commercial space including a 152 bed hotel, foodstore and retail / business units. New public spaces connect the buildings and people in the area.

As London intensifies, the challenges of designing around transport and infrastructure are ever more acute. The design and construction of Brunel Street Works in Canning Town, reflects how everyday needs can affect design and this building overcame the challenges of building directly next to London City Airport, London Underground, DLR and road network.
