Catford Dog Track

This is a long, narrow site sandwiched between two railway lines, with a park to the north and a single point of access from the A205 to the south.

The planning consent delivers nearly 600 homes for sale, keyworker, shared ownership and affordable rent and is located directly next to a new Network Rail station, community centre and shops. A new vibrant pedestrian plaza creates a gateway into the scheme along the Ravensbourne River with traditional scale housing leading through the site to engage with the park at the north.

The development site was incredibly constrained with the railway lines along two boundaries and a main sewer running through the centre of the site. The site also attracted a lot of local and media attention due to the loss of the Greyhound track. The scheme was approved at planning committee as one of Lewisham’s major strategic regeneration objectives.

“Extensive consultation was organised with local residents, council members, The Environment Agency, Network Rail and Thames Water to ensure that the scheme was deliverable and was supported by the local community.”
