Stow-on-the-Wold

Edwardstow Court

Located in the heart of the Cotswold market town Stow-on-the-Wold, Edwardstow Court is designed with an eye to a traditional manor house, with a blend of Cotswold stone and contemporary construction.

Edwardstow Court

Edwardstow Court sits on 1.2 acres of grounds, the 48 bedroom specialist dementia care home has been designed as a ‘household’ model of care split into eight-bedroom clusters. Every household has its own furnished lounge and kitchen / dining area, with easy access to assisted bathrooms and sitting rooms. The typical Cotswold design reflected the strict design guidelines for the area with modern interpretations.

In addition, there is a wealth of facilities and spaces so that regular activities can take place. The purpose-built home environment has been specifically designed to support the needs of older people and those with dementia, from aiding memory in day-to-day living and reminiscence therapy, to reinforcing personal identity and navigating the home.

Carefully chosen artwork, soft furnishings and themed corridors have been selected that are of an era likely to be familiar to the residents or are of meaningful subjects such as music or crafts.

A thoughtfully landscaped garden houses a sunny, protected courtyard, which most of the rooms overlook. There is a mixture of maintained landscaping and areas for the residents to dabble with horticulture with plenty of flat pathways so the entire garden can be accessed.

The scheme forms part of a wider masterplan Hunters obtained planning for which includes Hawkesbury Place.

“Edwardstow Court offers a compassionate, individualised residential area for those with dementia, focused on providing respite and day care.”
