Excalibur Phase 3

Phase 3 of the Excalibur development is a significant part of a major regeneration project in the London Borough of Lewisham, replacing post-war prefabricated homes. The project delivers 102 new homes, offering a mix of private sale, shared ownership, affordable rent, and wheelchair-accessible bungalows.

Hunters led the architectural design from feasibility through to delivery, ensuring the homes reflect the diverse needs of the local community. A key focus of the design was creating green spaces, including a central play area and a landscaped spine road running through the site.

As part of the planning approval, six of the original post-war prefabs have been preserved as Grade 2 listed buildings, safeguarding their historical significance. Two additional phases remain to complete the broader masterplan.

This development features a range of one and two bedroom apartments in various sizes, each with either balconies or roof gardens. Designed to accommodate a mix of tenures, these homes cater to both current and future residents of the estate.

With a focus on creating sustainable living environments, the scheme ensures senior residents can remain close to their families. The project is set to achieve Code for Sustainable Homes Level 4, promoting eco-friendly design and energy efficiency.

This project is located in the London Borough of Lewisham.
