John Barker Place

John Barker Place is situated in the London commuter town of Hitchin. Hunters has designed three phases of new housing including later living, enabling a total of 131 new homes to be built on this extensive site.

This project helps meet the growing demand for affordable and different types of housing in the area.

Phase 1 featured 37 sheltered homes, while Phase 2 creates an additional 46 apartments, catering to both sheltered accommodation and social housing needs and Phase 3, 48 new homes including for families.

The design revolves around landscape gardens and play areas, fostering a sense of connection and belonging and to help build a stronger community.

Hunters has paid special attention to integrating this new area into the wider town, ensuring they become an integral part of Hitchin.

In a region where affordable housing and Later Living accommodation are in high demand, John Barker Place in Hitchin, will help reduce some of the pressures.
