Positive Lives Centre

A fresh and calm refurbishment at Homerton Hospital to create an improved Sexual Health and HIV Clinic called Positive Lives.

Positive Lives Centre

The original deep plan mid-1990s building suffered from poor levels of natural daylight. Consulting rooms and counselling rooms were either too small or far too large, waiting areas were measly sized, and rooms for HIV counselling and clinics were institutional.

The refurbishment adds two modest extensions and completely reorganises the arrangement of rooms and circulation. The result is a large day-lit waiting and reception area, with views into a pocket garden. Consulting rooms are logically sized and arranged, with a significant majority benefiting from natural daylight. Acoustics for the consulting rooms are much improved.

The completed building has a crisp, modern patient-centered design, and incorporates efficient workflows both around the building and within individual consulting rooms.
