Royal Cambridge

The Royal Cambridge Home in Molesey, Surrey, is a 32-bedroom charity care home, with links to the armed forces, that supports independent living alongside residential care and dementia care. 

The homely comforts include a garden lounge and dining room which open onto an impressive garden with a mature cedar tree along with additional lounges, a library, and a hair salon. En-suite bedrooms are positioned in clusters with shared facilities. Hunters acted as Executive Architects.

Phase one of this project involved the demolition of two-thirds of the existing building to make way for a new 32-bed care home. The scheme features spacious communal areas, including landscaped gardens. Each bedroom will have an en-suite bathroom with a walk-in shower, rooms are organised into groups sharing a ‘country kitchen’, lounge, assisted bathroom, and a quiet room, fostering a comfortable and supportive environment for residents.

As the Executive Architects, Hunters worked closely with the team to bring this vision to life, creating a home that blends comfort, functionality, and care. We are working as Executive Architects on phase 2 of this project.
