Extra Care Scheme Wins Planning on Former Police Station Site

We are delighted that our extra care design for Birchgrove has secured planning approval.  The plans are to redevelop the site of the former police station on Chiswick High Road into 50 private rented extra care apartments. The new development will consist of one and two-bed self-contained apartments featuring the very best communal facilities, including a restaurant, licensed bar, community space, and an oasis landscape garden.

Located in the heart of the Chiswick Conservation Area, it fronts the popular Chiswick Flower market and is situated on a prominent corner site, allowing residents to easily access the array of popular cafes and shops right from their doorstep.  This is a highly sustainable development that achieves 77% betterment on 2021 Part L regulations and provides a 100% betterment on biodiversity including numerous new trees, landscaping, green roofs, and winter gardens.

The approval of this new community comes as demand for retirement accommodation across the London Borough of Hounslow increases, and Birchgrove’s redevelopment of the police station site will play a vital role in tackling Hounslow’s retirement accommodation shortage.

James Wallace, Director commented ‘This exceptional development in Chiswick will put Birchgrove and their residents in the heart of the local community with access to the vibrant array of shops and services from their doorstep. The central courtyard garden will be an oasis for residents offering activity and social engagement.’

Hunters are looking forward to embarking on the technical design stage with the build anticipated to commence on site early autumn.
