Making Gains in Gateway 2

The multidisciplinary team at Hunters, working on the refurbishment of Guy’s Hospital, Endourology Theatre 5 has successfully achieved Gateway 2 and will be starting on site at the end of May.

The theatre will undergo a complete refurbishment led by our team of Architects, Principal Designers and Engineers. The project will introduce cutting-edge imaging technology designed to significantly improve imaging precision, workflow efficiency, and overall treatment outcomes, enhancing both clinical capability and patient care.

Structural modifications will include the installation of new steel support beams to safely accommodate the upgraded equipment, alongside the creation of a dedicated technical room. The works will also include essential cable trenching and the installation of new high-performance vinyl flooring to ensure durability and compliance with healthcare hygiene standards.

Fire safety has remained a key priority throughout the design process, with enhanced measures incorporated.

This much needed upgrade will enable more patients to receive better quality screening and care.
