Hunters has completed the full refurbishment of Glyn Ward inside the Royal Hospital of Neuro-disability. The charitable hospital sits inside of a Grade II listed Georgian villa in Putney.
Our Healthcare Architecture Team’s main focus, was to make the space work better for both the patients and staff alike. This included a clearer internal arrangement of rooms, improved staff and clinical storage spaces and a greater provision of single bedrooms, supporting patient privacy, clinical good practice and contemporary infection control requirements.
We made sure to protect the historic assets of the building, including fireplaces, decorative ceilings, large timber sash windows and its primary walls and structure, while ensuring the ward could continue to perform its original healthcare function.
