Lampton Road Affordable Homes on Home Turf

There is something about working on your own home turf that brings a passion and understanding that is second to none. Our Employers’ Agent Waseem Sayid is doing just that and is part of a wider team completing 217 new affordable homes within the Lampton Parkside development aimed at providing housing for local residents in Hounslow.
The Lampton Road and Civic Centre project is delivering 940 new homes over two major phases of development, as well as the new Hounslow Civic Centre which is now more conveniently located in the town centre.

In Memoriam – Dennis Adams

January 2023

It is with great sadness that we advise that our friend and colleague Dennis passed away on 4 January 2023 after a short illness. Dennis was a key part of our Employer’s Agent team for eight years and was very popular with everyone he worked with, for his positivity, enthusiasm and dedication.

In his memory, the family are raising money for Sarcoma UK to thank the amazing Sarcoma nurses and staff who took care of Dennis and to recognize the kindness and genuine compassion of these individuals. Click here to donate.

Supporting our Community

This Christmas we have again supported the Lyric theatre in Hammersmith where an expected 35,000 people will see Jack and the Beanstalk, their lively Panto, and the captivating Raymond Briggs’ ‘Father Christmas’. As part of this, the theatre has raised funds to distribute free tickets to local organisations and family community groups, engaging with the local community and providing a platform for them to more easily access the arts.

Estate Revamp in Maidstone Receives Planning

Hunters Architects and Golding Homes have received planning consent for 236 new homes at Cambridge Crescent in Shepway, Maidstone, Kent.  The vision re-creates the traditional crescent with an extensive mix of home sizes which are 100% affordable.  The estate regeneration project revamps the popular local retail centre providing modern and attractive shops and other commercial spaces set within new landscaped places for the community.

Five years; 23 schemes, 27 sites, 341 homes, £80 million build and 100% affordable homes.

Barnet, along with other suburban boroughs, took the strategy to deliver their affordable home programme through small sites. Hunters, originally acting as Project Managers, undertook the Employer’s Agent and Cost Consultancy activities for this significant project.  Sites included garages and infill of existing housing stock. The project has created a significant range of flats and houses reflecting the character of where they are based.

The project is a good example of how local authorities can make use of existing underutilised land in their ownership to deliver much needed affordable homes which respond to local need.

Hunters Cath Lab Upgrades at St George’s

The healthcare team have completed five new cardiac catheter labs in St George’s Hospital in Tooting, South London, one of the country’s leading coronary centres.

The overall scheme replaces the five existing cardiac catheter labs across two phases and, through intelligent spatial planning, it provides state of the art interventional cardiology spaces with significantly improved storage and staff areas. The completion of this second phase delivers a further three new labs – two bi-planes and one hybrid.

Lower Mill Completes

Nestled in Ewell Village, Surrey, the repurposed Lower Mill estate has created over fifty superior waterside homes for the over 65’s. The design by Hunters for Birchgrove contains unique historical buildings including the nineteenth century Mill House and The Granary. Historically the 1896 Mill House was the family home attached to the corn mill which burnt down in 1938 – at which time it was a factory making wooden goods. The listed Georgian buildings have been refurbished, and complimentary new buildings added creating a harmonious and attractive new development. Nature is at the heart of this project.

Unanimous Approval on Alexandra Court

Hunters has won planning for fifteen new London affordable rent homes and with commercial space in the heart of the London Borough of Hackney for Islington and Shoreditch Housing Association ‘ISHA’. Alexandra Court, which is part new build and part external street level upgrade of existing homes, received unanimous approval at the planning committee. The site is adjacent to Dalston Conservation area and on a busy retail-centric High Street with a mix of Victorian, 20th century and locally listed buildings. One of the site challenges was working around the mature plane tree which bisects the site.

Two Finalists at this years IDHA

Two Hunters projects have reached the finals of this years Inside Housing Development Awards (IDHA) which recognises quality homes and sustainable places around the UK. Best Development, Urban in London, for Fish Island Village in Hackney Wick with Peabody, and Best Regeneration Project (up to 100 homes) for John Barker Place in Hertfordshire with Settle. Winners will be announced in September.
