NEW Video – Bringing light in, how Hunters tackled Chelsea and Westminster Hospital’s natural daylight dilemmas.

Our Healthcare team here at Hunters has recently designed and completed a major two phase refurbishment of Chelsea & Westminster Hospital. One of these phases was the comprehensive refurbishment of the hospital’s Day Surgery Unit. Included in the refurbishment, were two new state-of-the-art operating theatres, and 28 new private cabins for patients. Our Healthcare team also made sure to add some greatly needed improvements to the staff rest areas.

Reading University Undergraduate Winners

For several years we have supported University of Reading undergraduate students who are studying Building Surveying, Construction Management & Quantity Surveying.

As part of their Part II ‘Projects’ module, the students are given a brief to design and construct a sustainable extension to a campus building, with proposals being presented to the University as well as a consultant team including Hunters and Beard Construction.  The module combines technical work with presentation skills practice, teamwork, risk analysis and project skills.  This year the winning team and rising stars attended an event at Beard Construction offices.

Victoria Falzon Joins Our Civils & Structures Team

We are pleased to welcome Victoria Falzon who has joined our growing Civils & Structures team as an Associate. Victoria is a Chartered Engineer, with experience across the residential, commercial and education sectors. Victoria will be bringing strong technical judgement, as well as a clear understanding of client priorities, design ambition and programme constraints.

Victoria has successfully led teams through all stages of project development, with a particular focus on buildability, coordination and efficient delivery. She will be working alongside John Matthews and the rest of the Civils & Structures team, and will be a great addition.

New Members Join the Hunters Team

Everyone here at Hunters is delighted to welcome Deborah, Charlotte and Treasa to the Team. We are excited to see the expertise, knowledge and fresh ideas that they will bring to their departments, and the company as a whole.

Michael’s Husky Hike

Michael Featherstone, Associate in the Civils & Structures team, alongside his two huskies Cooper & Nova walked 27.67 miles in 11.5 hours, to raise money for 8 Below Husky Rescue. A charity incredibly close to Michael’s heart, as Nova herself is a rescue. Both Cooper and Nova recovered well and were ready to go again the next day – Michael took a few extra days to recover!

We are delighted to say that Michael, Cooper and Nova have currently raised £447 for 8 Below Husky Rescue, and anyone who would also wish to donate and congratulate Michael, Cooper and Nova is able to do so via the Just Giving link.

St Giles View Features in Luxury Care Home Guide

The Hunters designed St Giles View in Winchester, Hampshire, has been selected for the 2026 Luxury Care Home Guide curated by Knight Frank.

This 60-bedroom care home is thoughtfully arranged as a series of households, fostering a strong sense of community among residents.

New Spaces for Chelsea and Westminster Hospital

Hunters has successfully completed the refurbishment of two critical service areas at Chelsea and Westminster Hospital: the Day Surgery Unit and the Adult Therapy Department. These projects form part of a broader redevelopment plan aimed at enhancing patient care and healthcare infrastructure.

Thanet Community Health Hub – converting a college into healthcare

Hunters’ Healthcare team has designed and completed Phase One of the new £10 million Thanet Community Health Hub — a transformational change-of-use project bringing primary care, community health services, and diagnostic provision together under one roof.

Located adjacent to a busy shopping centre in Broadstairs, the hub occupies a former Canterbury Christ Church University building, originally constructed in 2000 and vacant since 2018. Its highly accessible setting places healthcare at the centre of the community it serves.
