Building Surveyors Complete Hospital Audit
Our Building Surveying team have completed a portfolio validation exercise on behalf of Kingston and Richmond NHS Foundation Trust at the main Kingston Hospital site. The surveys included a vast range of acute care buildings, a mortuary, day nursery and other buildings integral to the hospitals day to day operations.
3750 rooms
29 buildings
Eleven weeks
Working for the Estates team, the aim was to create an asset database on the condition of rooms including their names, functions and locations. Liaising with clinicians and staff, we were able to gain access to all areas and work around patients and visitors to ensure a thorough survey was completed and impact on everyday life at the hospital was negligible.
Over 3750 assets (rooms) were surveyed in 29 different buildings around the site. We carried out visual inspections of each location adding data through secure iPads. The exercise has ensured an up to date plan of all the areas in their vast portfolio and benefits the trust by providing them with an understanding of condition, space utilisations, what things are being used for, possible integrations and timelines for work that’s needs to be completed across the site.
