Health Management UCLH (PFI Client) working with University College Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust
Hunters are providing Structural Engineering services for several projects at the main University College Hospital London, a 669-bed teaching hospital and the Elisabeth Garret Anderson Wing which provides high quality care for women and their babies.
The £350m PFI project provides over 70,000m2 of state-of-the-art medical facilities, including inpatients, outpatients, theatres and emergency services. Radio diagnostics, radiotherapy and related therapies are also provided in the lower levels.
Director, John Matthews, has been working with the PFI Client, Health Management UCLH, since 1999, including leading the structural design for the 17 storey, 3 basement main hospital building which was completed in 2005.
Since these hospital buildings opened John has provided structural engineering services for several refurbishment projects including re-configuring the ambulance drop-off and extending the Emergency Department and providing new ITU beds during the Covid pandemic.
Hunters are continuing to provide Structural Engineering services for HMU and UCLH including the Linac Bunker E refurbishment, a major refurbishment and upgrade of the private Children’s Ward and upgrading neo-natal ICU facilities.
