John Matthews

John is a qualified Structural Engineer and leads the Hunters Civil & Structural Engineering arm which was established in 2023. His work has spanned many sectors including complex projects in the residential, retail, commercial, education and healthcare within both the public and private sectors.

He has engineered several high-profile developments including the £350m Phase 1 University College London Hospital redevelopment and subsequent Phase 2 Elizabeth Garrett Anderson Wing. He has led many smaller new build, refurbishment, extension and structural alteration healthcare projects almost all on congested and operational hospital sites.

With his team he designs projects of excellence. He is a proactive, creative, and imaginative contributor to project teams and committed to innovative, sustainable and cost-effective design solutions.
